"Strengthening interdisciplinary teams in fragility fractures".
Cancún, Quintana Roo, October 15, 2024. Cancun Center.

Fragility fractures represent a clinical entity of considerable complexity that has emerged as a significant challenge for public health, given its burden in terms of dependency, morbidity and mortality and associated costs. This type of fracture usually manifests in elderly individuals with a high degree of comorbidity. Effectively addressing this challenge requires the intervention of an interdisciplinary team, thus ensuring comprehensive care based on the best available evidence. This multidisciplinary approach favors comprehensive care for all the needs of the fracture patient, thus contributing to optimal recovery.

Course Objective:
The purpose of this course is to provide health care professionals interested in fragility fractures with a comprehensive view of the different areas related to the management of the patient presenting with osteoporosis and fragility fractures, from the perspective of interdisciplinary teams

Aimed at first contact physicians (e.g. general practitioners, family practitioners), medical students, nutritionists, physiotherapists, nurses, social workers and other health professionals interested in fragility fractures.

We will have leading professors in the area, both national and from other Latin American countries.
