Orthopaedic surgeons and geriatricians are the front-line clinical specialists providing care for fragility fracture sufferers. National orthopaedic associations are playing a leading role in the development of fragility fracture guidelines and establishment of national fragility fracture registries throughout the world.
Orthopaedics is well represented in the FFN membership, with 40% of current FFN members being orthopaedic surgeons. FFN members are spread across the world’s regions, with orthopaedic members in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, North America and Latin America. Orthopaedics has also made up to approximately 22 % of FFN Global Congress delegates in 2012 and 2013.
